Cameron was travelling in a red van driven by his fiancée, Danielle Cable. Near the Swanley junction, the van and a Land Rover driven by Noye became involved in a traffic confrontation. Both vehicles stopped and the two men got out. The confrontation became physical and Noye used a knife, fatally stabbing Cameron.
Noye fled Britain after the killing. The investigation became a major manhunt and eventually located him in Spain. He was returned to Britain, tried at the Old Bailey and convicted of Cameron's murder in 2000. He received a life sentence.
Later court proceedings reviewing Noye's minimum term again summarized the killing. The case became widely described as a road-rage murder, but that shorthand should not erase the victim or reduce the episode to the offender's notoriety.
Cameron's canonical page corrects a common true-crime imbalance: the convicted criminal already has a strong profile while the murdered person can disappear inside it. Cameron now connects directly to the murder Event and Noye while remaining outside the Rogue People catalog.
This structure also protects future cross-linking. New articles can point to one canonical ID instead of repeating free-text names, and reverse links can be generated without changing the meaning of the original event. Media remains separately gated: no AI reconstruction is used as a substitute for a rights-cleared historical image.
