Zoran Vukojević “Vuk” provides one of the clearest inside views of the Zemun clan because his life crossed three roles: police officer, security man inside Dušan Spasojević’s circle, and finally cooperating witness. His 2006 murder turned that cooperation into a separate major crime story.
From police to Spasojević’s security circle
Vukojević worked as a police officer before becoming head of security for Dušan Spasojević. That position placed him close to the group’s leadership and later made his testimony unusually valuable to prosecutors.
Cooperating witness
After the 2003 crackdown, Vukojević gave evidence against former associates and received cooperating-witness status. The status bar therefore must not invent a prison term: the correct legal display is that no sentence was imposed in the relevant prosecution after the state waived prosecution under the cooperating-witness framework.
Murder in 2006
Vukojević was abducted, beaten, shot and his body burned near the Belgrade–Šid motorway. Aleksandar Simović was later convicted of the murder and sentenced to twenty years in that separate case.
Why the page matters
The profile creates a strong reverse link from a witness to the people he testified against, and from the Zemun organization page to the consequences of cooperating with prosecutors. His murder should also exist as its own Event node rather than be buried in a biography.
Death
Zoran Vukojević “Vuk” died on 3 June 2006 in near Belgrade–Šid motorway, Serbia. The documented cause of death was murdered.
