Vuk Drašković

Vuk Drašković is not a Rogue profile. He is a contextual person whose presence is essential because two of the most important political-violence cases in the Serbian branch of the archive were attempts to kill him: the Ibar Highway attack in October 1999 and the Budva shooting in June 2000.

Ibar Highway attack

On 3 October 1999, a truck struck Drašković’s convoy on the Ibar Highway near Lazarevac. Four members of his entourage were killed and Drašković survived. Final court judgments later convicted senior security officials and JSO members.

Budva attack

On 15 June 2000, Drašković survived another assassination attempt in Budva. The later Stambolić/Budva proceedings produced final convictions against Ulemek, Berček and others, while the exact legal role and sentence differed by defendant.
