Nenad Ilić was a JSO member whose testimony and convictions made him one of the operational figures connecting the Ibar Highway attack with the Stambolić and Budva cases. Later reporting also repeatedly returned to his statements as investigators tried to reconstruct other unresolved crimes of the period.
Operational role
Ilić served in the Special Operations Unit. In the Ibar Highway proceedings he was identified as the driver of the truck used in the attack on Vuk Drašković’s convoy. The final 2009 ruling confirmed a 40-year sentence.
Stambolić/Budva conviction
In the combined Stambolić/Budva case Ilić received a 15-year sentence. The two cases should be presented separately because they concern different judgments and sentencing histories.
Later testimony
Ilić later appeared as a witness in proceedings connected with the Budva attack and other investigations. Statements made in later hearings can be useful leads, but they must not be converted into established facts unless independently proven.
Graph value
His page should connect the operational JSO layer to Marković, Ulemek, Berček, Bujošević, Maričić and Milivojević, while also linking to the three major political-violence events.
